De snelheid van de veelbelovende mobiele communicatietechnologie UMTS zou wel eens tegen kunnen vallen. Uit tests van netwerkfabrikanten en telecomoperators is namelijk gebleken dat de snelheid die in de praktijk met UMTS gehaald kan worden veel lager ligt dan eerder is beloofd:

That's the message from large enterprise wireless users, network equipment providers, analysts, and the carriers themselves.
