Met slechts 2.1 miljoen niet zo'n hele goede score, toch liepen we in het overall klassement weer 400k uit op AnandTech. ![]()

Samsung Electronics announces
development of a 300MHz 128Mb (4Mb by 32) Double Data Rate
synchronous DRAM (DDR SDRAM), part number
K4D263238A-GC33. The new device is primarily intended for use in
high-resolution graphics and high-speed video applications.
Samsung believes that demand for this new product will extend to
include notebook PC, wide-area network, local-area network, Internet
router and switching memory, and Level 3 cache memory for high-end server applications.
Samples are available now with mass production set for the 3rd quarter of 2001.

The 7,200 RPM spin speed improves overall drive performance, which in turn, improves desktop computing performance. The new 100 GB WD Caviar hard drives can store a combination of 1,800 digital photos, 4 hours of digital video, 40 hours of digital music downloads, 18 digital games, and 30 software programs.

The best choice for a TV tuner video card seems to be the ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon. The software package of the card is simply wonderful, thanks in no small part to the addition of the GuidePlus software. We found that this program made watching TV on your PC extremely easy and enjoyable, as a new level of interactivity was certainly experienced.
The appeals court ruled that certain provisions in Microsoft's licenses with PC manufacturers impaired the distribution of third-party Web browsers. Microsoft will now provide PC manufacturers with the following new flexibility:
"They are adaptive; they are evolving," Jose Nazario, a researcher for computer-security group Crimelabs, said of worms, malicious, self-replicating programs that have become a favorite tool of online vandals.
Nazario, who is doing doctoral work in biochemistry at Case Western University, called today's viral code the equivalent of "primordial ooze." While malicious code--such as the Love Bug, Hybris, Ramen and 1i0n--has successfully spread widely, such programs are essentially less evolved than single-celled organisms.
Madmax @ 2001/07/11 21.16 irc.ins.net.uk / dianora: Just incase the rumours are true and somebody's attacked all the servers dianora opers on, can I point out that Diane hasnt been opered on irc.ins.net.uk for about a week... If you're going to DOS servers because you dont like their opers, at least /stats o first ;P

Fujitsu Technology said in a
statement that Sun's Solaris
Hardware Partners Group has
tested and fully certified its
servers, meaning the large
number of software packages
designed for Sun systems will
run unchanged on Fujitsu
Technology's machines. While
Fujitsu Technology's servers
could potentially cut into Sun's
hardware market, Sun issues
such certifications to support
products that reinforce its
software's popularity.

Overall, though it can't compete with the 15k RPM offerings from the
competition in high-end server and database applications, the Atlas 10k III is
nonetheless a stellar performer. It delivers the highest performance to date for a
10,000 RPM drive coupled with the quietest idle noise around. It's 73 gigabyte
flagship capacity also outstrips that which 15k RPM drives offer. Thus, if you require lower noise
levels or higher capacities than what 15k RPM units offer, the 10k III should be your choice.
A while back we reported that we had heard Intel could well major just on the P4 and Celerons and consign its Pentium III desktop processor to the chip bin of history. And before then, we reported that Intel engineers were embarrassed that dual Tualatins seemed to be totally outclassing dual Foster Xeons.
