When ATI conceived the AIW Radeon, the goal was to create a product that included all aspects of video, including input and output, and this has been achieved with its AIW product. So is ATI still the leader in this segment? It is obvious that the answer is "yes," since ATI really has no competition here.
In the past, consumers may have hesitated buying the AIW products because of the comparatively weak 3D, but with the new Radeon chip, this is no longer the case. The 3D performance is close to GeForce 2 GTS level while sporting superior features.
For a video card including TV watching and video input/output capabilities, your best bet is AIW Radeon, unless you want to purchase a separate TV tuner card which may not work with your graphics accelerator as well as the AIW. With a list price of $330, or $300 with the $30 rebate now offered, this is a great value. The only caveat here is that you may find the software slightly buggy.
