For the first time, ATI is making use of a 350MHz RAMDAC supporting up to 2048x1536 at 75Hz. Like the Rage 128 Pro before it, the RADEON's 2D quality is top notch, rivaling Matrox.
One of the most notable features of the All-In-Wonder card is the absence of an SVGA connector. In its place is a DVI output powered by the RADEON's integrated TMDS transmitter. Since most of us are still using CRT's, ATI has included a DVI to SVGA adapter, which is able to maintain compatibility without disturbing signal quality.[break]En de conclusie van Gamers Depot:[/break]So the few questions remain about a card like this. First, is this a card for everyone? No, the simple fact remains that not everyone will even use this card in the way it was meant to be, which is a powerful video tool for both viewing and editing. Secondly, is there another card like it on the market today? No, the AIW Radeon is quite simply the most feature laden video solution available to the mass consumer market, and it’s doubtful when or if we’ll see competition to it anytime soon unless Matrox releases a Marvel based on their hypothetical G800 chip. Who matches the right profile as a potential customer for a video solution like this? Anyone who is looking for the best all-in-one video card available today, period.
It’s hard to find any fault with this card, especially if you consider the price. For around $300.00 (Street price), you get an amazing video tool with all the trimmings, and some good 3D performance that is sure to please all but the most hardcore of gamers. It look as if ATI has another sure fire winner on their hands that should help keep the nVIDIA and 3dfx zealots at bay for quite some time, as fans of those other companies will most likely have to pack a long lunch in hopes of seeing the competition rise to match the All-In-Wonder Radeon.
