In een periode van een maand is de laagste prijs van een 128Meg PC133 reepje omlaag gegaan van 350 naar 235 gulden, een daling van maar liefst 33%. Het kan echter nog beter. Volgens The Register zijn de 64Mbit PC100 prijzen vandaag onder de grens van 4 dollar gedoken. Dit zijn prijzen die vergelijkbaar zijn met de erg blije zomer van 1999, toen 128MB DIMMetjes op een gegeven moment voor 190 piek werden aangeboden.
In een sterke prijsdaling schuilt het gevaar dat de fabrikanten besluiten om de productie terug te schroeven, waardoor de prijzen door een onevenwichtige vraag/aanbod situatie vanzelf omhoog schieten. Als je nog SDR SDRAM wilt binnen hamsteren is dit in ieder geval de periode om dat te doen:

The highly anticipated Sony PlayStation 2 has launched for a suggested retail price of US$299.99. With only 500,000 units available in its first shipment, the console sold out at most retail outlets across North America by early this morning.
