Digital Web 3D heeft ruimte gevonden om een Asus A7V moederbord te reviewen. Zoals bekend is dit een Socket A moederbord gebaseerd op de VIA KT133 chipset. Net als in andere reviews komt ook hier de A7V weer goed uit de test, met als enige nadeel dat het misschien fijner zou zijn om 6 i.p.v. 5 PCI sloten te hebben. Over overklokresultaten wordt niet gerept.
Overall, the A7V is another excellent piece of hardware from ASUS, offering the great features paired with excellent performance without loosing stability. The A7V will satisfy anybody who's looking for a new system with a Duron or Thunderbird inside. The ATA100 controller is a new addition to the current boards, and although there's no big performance difference, it is still no doubt good to see that ASUS has included another additional extra to their board. The PC Probe software, included on driver CD, offers an easy, quick way to check the current condition of your system. It will give you readings on the motherboard's temperature and fan speeds. If purchasing this board, watch out for the older revision (rev1.0) that made out to the market. It has an integrated sound card on board and lacks processors multiplier adjustment option.

I'm really not sure who's the target market for this product (Japan?). It's a package of compromises, great build quality with some neat touches yet average image quality, fixed lens, lack of support for MP3 > 128 Kbit/s.. And I'm not sure what you're going to do with the 8 MB card that's bundled with the camera (apart from get just 2 MP3 tracks on it), most users will HAVE to purchase a 64 MB card on top.. Putting the price of an already expensive gadget right through the roof.

Well, I warned you. There isn’t enough performance difference between all of these cards to purely judge on stats. What it all boils down to is price, features, and availability. The fact that all these cards perform almost equally is a testament to nVIDIA's quality assurance of who they decide to partner with when it comes to a company wishing to make video cards based on their chips.

The GA-GF2000 from Gigabyte is a good solid videocard that can be compared towards any other GeForce2 GTS videocard. The board is nicely colored in blue (Gigabyte's signature/house style), has a very decent manual and comes with a driver CD equipped with the latest (slightly adjusted) Reference based Detonator drivers, DirectX7, Final Reality Benchmark (get rid of that benchmark Gigabyte, it's outdated and not representative anymore), some trial games and a trial version of PowerDVD. Since the GeForce2 GTS can decode DVD (read: was specifically designed to) in hardware I do not understand why so many manufacturers choose not to include a full version of a DVD-Player. It's all about the big bucks I guess.
