The WM9709 is a high-quality stereo audio DAC (Digital to Analog converter), based on Wolfson's well proven multi-bit Sigma-Delta converter architecture. It combines cutting edge design technology with state-of-the-art sound quality. The WM9709 utilizes AC-Link architecture, as commonly used in most PC motherboards, customized with some novel technology to provide the Xbox with superior audio performance that will complement its unparalleled graphics capability.[break]Verder weet CNET te vertellen dat Microsoft de Ravisent Cinemaster software gaat gebruiken om de XBox DVD functionaliteit te geven, ze volgen daarmee het voorbeeld van de concurrentie:[/break]"We've studied the PlayStation 2 from a couple of perspectives to understand what consumers liked about it and what they didn't," McCann said. As for the CD-ROM benchmark, I used CD Speed 99. I seemed to have encountered some problems while benchmarking the DVD and my HP CD-RW drives using this benchmark. It always reports a read-error while performing the Transfer Rate test and the Burst Rate test. So, I used an Audio CD to perform the test and it works! I won't really count on the accuracy but hey, poor results are better than no results right?
