Bij PC Gameworld is het officiële logo van de Microsoft Xbox console te vinden. Hieronder meer info en de pic:
Microsoft today unveiled the Xbox logo. The three-dimensional logo was designed to exude three key messages: powerful technology, an exhilarating experience and fresh, inventive gameplay. When combined, these elements make for the ultimate gaming experience.
"We wanted the logo to convey the newness and excitement of Xbox - to let gamers know they will enter a new world," said John O'Rourke, director of Xbox marketing at Microsoft. "One pack of skateboarders who recently saw the logo said they wanted to plaster it on their boards. That's what I call acceptance."[break]
The Xbox MCP, also called MCPX, is the first product in a new category of media and communication processors that will power the 21st century broadband digital appliances,'' said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO at NVIDIA. ``Our vision is to leverage the power of the MCP to transform platforms such as PCs, game consoles, and set-top boxes into `residential gateways'. The MCP will eventually become a `network router on a chip', and distribute broadband content throughout the networked digital home.''
At the heart of the MCPX, is a pair of high performance multimedia DSPs, executing up to 4 billion operations per second. This is equivalent to the multimedia processing power of a high performance Pentium III. The processing power of MCPX will enable the Xbox to produce theatre quality 3D audio and super realistic 3D sound effects, while connecting to the broadband Internet for networked games. The MCPX is manufactured in advanced 0.15um 7 layer metal process and is the second NVIDIA processor to be featured in Xbox. The combination of NVIDIA's Xbox GPU and MCP will produce never-before-experienced 3D graphics, high definition video, audio, and broadband capabilities. The awesome technology inside Xbox will enable a major leap in videogame experience.
