Ik lees bij AGN Hardware dat Teac een nieuwe 8x24 CD-Recorder in produktie heeft genomen. Handig als je haast hebt:
TEAC, a world leader in the manufacture of CD-ROM,
CD-Recordable and removable storage technology, today
announces it is shipping the company's new 8X24 CD-Recordable
Drive (CD-R). The 8X24 SCSI-2 device establishes a new level of
performance and reliability as the fastest CD-Recorder on the
market, ready for a new era of data-rich opportunities and
applications.
TEAC's latest 8X24 CD-R records at 1,200KBps (8X), giving the
professional user the fastest performance for the most demanding
applications. The level of speed, complimented by the recorder's
SCSI-2 interface, allows the user to create up to 650MB of data
and the equivalent of 74 minutes of audio. In addition, the drive
transfers audio from one disc to another at an audio extraction
rate of 12X. The 8X24 mirrors today's high performance CD-ROM
drives by delivering 150ms average access time and reading data
at 3.6MBps (24X).
"TEAC is excited to offer this addition to our CD-R family, which is
the fastest and most affordable of its kind," stated Les Luzar,
division manager, TEAC's Data Storage Products Division. "We
strive to give everyone, from the professional to the beginner, the
ability to burn custom data and audio CDs with the latest CD-R
technology."
The new 8X24 is available as either an internal plug and play
model or an external unit that allows simple connection and
portability from one computer to the other. Both models come in a
complete kit, including everything needed to easily install and run
the drive, including an Adaptec bus master PCI SCSI host adapter
bundled with a collection of Adaptec(R) software. The bundle
consisting of Adaptec Direct CD(TM), Adaptec Easy CD
Creator(TM), Adaptec CD Copier Deluxe(TM) and MGI Photo Suite
software for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT gives the user a
familiar and easy way to drag and drop data, create custom CDs
and make backup copies.
"TEAC is addressing today's growing need for faster, high quality
CD-Recordable drives," stated Scott Elrich, product
development/marketing manager of the Data Storage Products
Division. "With products like the 8X24, TEAC is providing for the
advent of MP3 and other emerging technologies which benefit from
high speed CD recording devices."
Both the 8X24 CD-R internal model CD-R58S and external model
CD-RE58S are shipping now with an MSRP of $449 and $549,
respectively. Like all of TEAC's Data Storage Products, the 8X24
drives are available to resellers and VARs through the company's
network of authorized distributors
Tegelijkertijd heeft Teac het oude 6x24 model in prijs verlaagd.
