Bij 3DRage.com hebben ze een review van de Creative Labs 3D Blaster Savage4 in elkaar gedraaid. Het ding draait op een magere 110MHz:
Wait just a minute, wasn't that the default clock speed of chips 6 months ago? I thought this was supposed to be a next-generation chipset. Diamond set their StealthIII to 125Mhz clock speed which is the default setting anyway, why didn't Creative?The answer is probably in order to keep profits high at the $100 price tag, Creative made a special deal with S3 to buy their chipsets at discount price. But the bad news is the chips that Creative purchased are the chips that didn't pass Savage4's internal testing which means they were the chips that didn't hit 125Mhz in preliminary testing. Sucks, doesn't it?
De overklokbaarheid is ook niet om over naar huis te schrijven: het maximale dat 3DRage eruit kreeg was 117Mhz...
