Rivastation heeft een review gepost van een nVidia GeForce2 Ultra reference kaartje. De kaart maakte gebruik van 4ns DDR SDRAM chips, die tot een weinig verassende maximale snelheid van 500MHz overgeklokt konden worden. Normaal gesproken draait de memclock van de GF2 Ultra op 460MHz en op deze snelheid werden de GeForce2 GTS en ATi Radeon ruimshoots gedeklasseerd. Eind deze maand worden de eerste GeForce2 Ultra kaarten op de markt verwacht en dan is het aan jou om te bepalen of de GF2 Ultra zijn prijs van 500 dollar (~ FL 1450,-) waard is:
The Ultra is definitely faster than the Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 64, which is currently the fastest "standard" GF2 GTS 64MB card out there, although it, too, is far from being bargain-priced. The decision, whether this extra performance is worth the extra-extra price is up to you, your wallet, or - worst-case scenario - your wife...Well, I suppose that's the price you pay for the privilege of owning a "flag-ship" class card. It's the same with any hobby, be it cars, HiFi, bikes, houses, or anything else. Luxury is never really rational, but usually more a matter of fun and personal pride - being able to count yourself to the certain elite that has what few others have.
Hmm, really, if you own this card, you'll also need a transparent case with a massive padlock, a remote-controlled alarm system, electric case-opening, and....ah, okay, I think you get the picture...

). Er zijn tussen de verschillende typen Geforces niet echt grote verschillen. Het enigste wat echt veranderd is de snelheid van het geheugen en kracht van de GPU.
