This latest driver release is hopefully enough to tide over most users until the next upgrade. Perhaps it will lift your spirits enough in order to wait for the announcement of NVIDIA's NV20 next year. We can only guess at the rendering power that will be provided by that chip. The performance gains of the Detonator 3s are not as visible as those we witnessed after the upgrade to the Detonator 2s, but there are only so many improvements that are possible through the use of software. Eventually all hardware limitations take over.
Again, TNT and TNT2 users should either pass on this one, or take the Detonator 3 drivers for a spin before taking the plunge. GeForce2 MX and GeForce 256 SDR users have been seeing healthy boosts at higher resolutions due to the tough memory bandwidth limitations present with those chipsets. Regardless of what we've seen here today, I think that the announcement of the GeForce2 Ultra chipset will have a greater impact on everyday operations than that of these revamped drivers
