Maxtor Corporation today announced volume shipments of the world’s first 80 GB hard drive, the DiamondMax 80 and its value line product, the DiamondMax VL 40. These products are available through Maxtor’s worldwide PC OEMs, distribution and retail channel partners.“Maxtor’s delivery continues to run like clockwork,” said Mike Cordano, Maxtor’s vice president of worldwide sales. “Although we were one of the last to announce a 20 GB per disk product, Maxtor is one of the first to supply it in volume. The unique capacity and performance attributes of the DiamondMax hard drives continues Maxtor’s momentum in the marketplace.”
