Software-update: EditPad Lite 8.4.1

JGsoft heeft versie 8.4.1 van de gratis teksteditor EditPad Lite uitgebracht. Dit programma is niet bedoeld voor programmeurs, die kunnen beter EditPad Pro, RJ TextEd of Notepad++ gebruiken. Dit is meer een vervanger van het met Windows meegeleverde Kladblok. In tegenstelling tot Kladblok kan EditPad Lite een onbeperkt aantal bestanden in hetzelfde scherm openen, heeft het geen limiet op de grootte van te openen bestanden en is het aantal undo's en redo's onbeperkt. EditPad Lite is gratis voor privégebruik, maar bedrijven kunnen een licentie aanschaffen als er geen behoefte is aan alle extra's die de Pro-versie biedt. In deze uitgave is het volgende probleem verholpen:

• Switching between a left-to-right and right-to-left text layout did not immediately move the vertical scroll bar to the other side of the editor; it would move after switching to another file and back.

Mijn suggestie:
The dialogue window of EditPad appears in the centre of the desktop.
That is a bit awkward when, on an ultrawide monitor, the EP window touches the left or right edge of the screen. See https://cisken.be/illustraties/voorbeeld_EditPad.jpg.

Jan, could you code it so that it appears in the centre of the EP window, where one's attention is focused in the first place?

Thank you for your feedback. We'll consider your suggestion for future versions of EditPad.

Presently EditPad displays its message boxes centered on the monitor that EditPad is on. This provides a stable location (centered) that is still close enough to EditPad itself on systems with wide desktops that span across monitors.

But I can see that this doesn't work so well with a single 32:9 monitor that gives you a desktop as wide as what you'd have on a system with dual 16:9 monitors.

Conclusie: Nog wat geduld tot een volgende update.
