IDM Computer Solutions heeft versie 18.00 van UltraEdit uitgebracht. Deze multifunctionele teksteditor kan overweg met gewone ascii-tekst, maar hexadecimale bestanden en html-bestanden zijn evenmin een probleem. Verder beschikt het over features als macro's, verticale blokselectie, syntax highlighting, een ingebouwde ftp-client en spellingscontrole in diverse talen. Het changelog voor versie 18.00 laat de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen zien:
Smart TemplatesAutomatic auto-completion of closing HTML and/or XML tags
- Ability to add multiple user-defined variables to templates
- New "Languages" template group to store templates based on syntax highlighting languages

Improved FTP performance
- Corrected caret positioning issues with fonts that are not fixed-width
- Improved syntax highlighting for fonts that are not fixed-width
Other changes
- Faster modification and saving accounts, especially when many accounts are configured
- Added support for automatically connecting to FTP account when opening FTP Open or Browse dialog*
* To enable this, add "Auto Browse FTP=1" (without the quotes) on a new line in your uedit32.ini file under the [Settings] section. You must ensure that UltraEdit is closed when you modify and save the INI file, otherwise your changes will be overwritten. You can find the location of your INI file by going to Advanced -> Configuration -> Application Layout -> Advanced. The location of the INI file is shown at the bottom of this dialog.
