Bij VIAHardware heeft men een artikel geschreven over verleden, heden en toekomst van de VIA Cyrix III processor. Er wordt onder andere aandacht besteed aan het lange uitblijven van de processor:
Firingsquad.com first did a preview on the Cyrix III and gave the world some initial specifications as well as benchmarks. This was in Febuary. Four months later there were still no Cyrix III's on the market. This delay was mainly due to problems associated with the "phase-in" between the two companies. Cyrix had nine out of their 50 employees leave the company as well as the recent resignation of Doug Phillips, Product Marketing Manager at Cyrix. So when Computex 2000 rolled around and it was time to officially announce the Cyrix III it was not realistic to release the Cyrix III under the Joshua core.[break]Over de toekomst van de Cyrix III wordt het volgende geschreven:[/break]VIA plans on launching a revision to the Cyrix III in the future that will have higher speed ranges as well as 64k of L2 integrated cache. VIA currently has no plans to move into the high-end segment of processors. If VIA can score their goal of 10% market share by the end of 2000 and can complete the "phase-in" of their two processor divisions I am hoping that we will see VIA at the high end in the future.
