Software-update: Nessus 7.0.2

Nessus is een securityscanner die een netwerk kan scannen op bekende exploits en openstaande services. Resultaten kunnen vervolgens in verscheidene rapporten weergegeven worden. Ook kan de software integreren met andere pakketten, zoals CyberArk voor credentialmanagement en mdm-software van Microsoft, Apple, MobileIron en AirWatch. Nessus wordt in drie verschillende smaken uitgegeven, namelijk de gratis te gebruiken Home-editie, en de betaalde Professional- en Manager-edities. Tenable heeft Nessus 7.0.2 uitgebracht met de volgende aanpassingen:

De versie is al even geleden vrijgegeven. Nadeel aan versie 7 is dat je o.a. geen nieuwe users kunt aanmaken wat een veelgehoorde klacht is.

Multi-user no longer supported

With the increased license flexibility in v7, there is no longer a need for multiple users and therefore that function is removed. (During update, existing users will be retained, although you won't be able to create new ones.)

Ook kun je geen gebruik meer maken van scannen via API of CLI

Scanning operations are now via UI

The ability to manage scans via API and CLI has been removed in v7.

Wil je van bovenstaande opties wel gebruik maken dan zal je moeten upgraden naar SecurityCenter of Nessus Manager.
