Scribus is een opensourceprogramma gericht op alle zaken van desktoppublishing. Het programma kan gebruikt worden voor het bewerken en opmaken van documenten voor onder meer drukwerk, die vervolgens als pdf of postscript opgeslagen kunnen worden. De ontwikkelaars hebben versie 1.3.3.12 de deur uitgedaan, die binnen te halen is als broncode of gecompileerd voor onder andere verschillende Linux-smaken en Windows. De aankondiging van deze nieuwe uitgave ziet er als volgt uit:

This stable release adds the following:As we announced previously, there will be no more development or bug fixes to 1.2.x series. We now recommend all distributions package only Scribus 1.3.3.x, nor do we recommend packaging 1.3.4 or 1.3.5svn releases unless they are marked as experimental or development only.
- Several fixes and improvements to text frames and the Story Editor.
- Some additional scripts have been added to enhance functionality.
- More translation and documentation updates.
- Several fixes to protect against possible crashes.
- Improvements to the Scripter to enable more features.
The Scribus Team is working steadily on finishing the Qt4 port of Scribus with 1.3.5svn and expects to release this in the coming months.
