QNAP heeft een update voor versie 5.2 uitgebracht van de firmware die op diverse modellen van zijn nas-apparaten staat. In versie 5.2 heeft QNAP de beveiliging verbeterd. Zo is er een Security Center toegevoegd die onder meer tegen ransomware moet beschermen. Verder is er een Kernel Mode SMB Daemon die smb-operaties moet versnellen en is er ondersteuning voor TCG-Ruby Self-Encrypting Drives toegevoegd. In versie 5.2.10 zijn verder nog de volgende verbeteringen aangebracht:

- Applied multiple security updates to further enhance system security.
- Fixed an issue where the system sometimes could not connect to an SNMP agent when the NAS had a large number of shared folders.
- Fixed a log management issue in Network & Virtual Switch to improve system stability.
- Fixed an issue where it would take a long time to create a shared folder in a folder that contained an enormous number of files.
- Fixed an issue where users could still retain SSH access even after being removed from the administrator group.
- Fixed an issue in Predictive Migration where removing a spare disk could not trigger a successful rebuild due to an incorrect disk status.
- Fixed an issue where the system would still delete a snapshot marked as permanent during a snapshot cleanup after a snapshot retention period.
- Fixed an issue where users could not unlock an encrypted shared folder whose folder name contained a white space.
- Fixed an issue where Control Panel would take a while to display the hardware information on the TS-832PX.
- Fixed an issue where users could not access the NAS via its IPv6 ULA (Unique Local Address).
- Fixed an issue where users could not operate the 5.2.9.3499 with the IR-004 remote control after updating firmware to 5.2.9.3499.
- Fixed an issue where users could not use HybridMount to mount a remote NAS via WebDAV on a NAS running firmware 5.2.9.3492.
- Fixed an issue in font loading that caused a delay when loading the QTS desktop.
