VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.4 provides the following new capabilities:Resolved Issues
- This release resolves CVE-2025-41236, CVE-2025-41237, CVE-2025-41238, and CVE-2025-41239. For more information on these vulnerabilities and their impact on Broadcom products, see VMSA-2025-0013.
- This release resolves CVE-2025-2884. Broadcom has evaluated the severity of this issue to be in the moderate severity range.
Known Issues
- When using VMware Fusion on macOS Sequoia 15.4 and later, DNS resolution is not working in NAT mode. As a result, your virtual machine does not have network connection. This issue is fixed in this release.
- When attempting a VM upload from VMware Fusion that is installed on MacOS 14.7.4 to an ESXi 8.x server, the operation fails with the following error message: Failed to transfer file [disk-0.vmdk] to host [host IP](response code :500). This issue is fixed in this release.
- When installing Windows 11 Home or Pro edition on a virtual machine, the installer appears to be connected to a network, but continues to prompt for network connection with the following message: Let's connect you to a network. As a result, you cannot proceed with the next installation steps.
Workaround: In the settings of the VM, change the network adapter from NAT to Bridged and proceed with the installation.- Unity mode has been removed in VMware Fusion 13.6. The Default Applications feature is closely integrated with Unity mode and therefore also is no longer available.
Workaround: None.- The Install VMware Tools button is grayed out on a device that uses macOS 15 Sequoia operating system.
Workaround: Download VMware Tools from here and execute these installation steps.- If you attempt to pull an image by using the vctl pull command, it fails with a "hdiutil: mount failed - Permission denied" error on macOS Sonoma 14.5 and later Host Operating Systems.
Workaround: None- In specific situations, based on different hardware and topologies, the multi-monitor feature does not work as expected. You might see issues like reverting the topology to a single screen, or not cycling through monitors.
Workaround: None.
