Software-update: VMware Fusion 8.1 build 3272237

VMware heeft versie 8.1 van Fusion uitgebracht. Fusion is voor OS X wat Workstation en Player zijn voor Windows en Linux. Het programma maakt het mogelijk om virtuele machines aan te maken op een met een Intel-processor uitgeruste OS X-machine. Op die manier is het mogelijk om bijvoorbeeld Windows, Linux of Solaris naast het bestaande besturingssysteem te draaien. In versie 8.0 is onder meer ondersteuning voor Windows 10, OS X El Capitan en diverse Linux distributies toegevoegd. Verder gaat het ingaan en uitkomen van de slaapstand sneller en kan er nu ook van usb 3.0 gebruik gemaakt worden onder Windows 7. In versie 8.1 zijn verder nog de volgende problemen verholpen:

• When creating a new virtual machine, if you select a Windows 10 version 1511 ISO file in the New Virtual Machine Wizard, the wizard says "Windows 10 detected. The operating system will use Easy Install". But in the next step, the "Version of Windows to install" dialog box only displays options for Windows Server 2012 R2.
• When you run Fusion in Full Screen view with multiple monitors, unplugging a monitor causes Fusion to crash
• When you run Microsoft Excel 2013 on a Windows 10 virtual machine, the application responds to your input with a one-second delay.
• Using USB devices with a virtual machine on an OS X 10.11 host might cause the virtual machine to crash
• When you access a non-English language virtual machine using Virtual Network Computing (VNC), the keyboard layout of the guest operating system differs from the keyboard layout of the host, and the documented fix for this in VMware KB 1004815 does not work.
• When a UAS device that is connected to a USB 3.0 port on a Mac OS X 10.9 or later host is connected to the guest, the device might fail to successfully connect to the guest. The device might appear as connected in the removable devices list, viewable by selecting VM > Removable Devices, but the guest operating system might fail to recognize the device.
• Reverse DNS lookup does not work in a virtual machine when a dnsmasq server is installed and configured on the Mac host
• Copying a large file between a USB storage device and an OS X virtual machine might stall and fail

Vind het voor een .1 update niet een hele grote verbetering. Ben hem momenteel aan het installeren, kijken of ik de punten anders ervaar.

Ik geloof dat er al eerdere builds van 8.1 zijn vrijgegeven, maar ik kan het op dit moment niet nakijken.

Volgens de Tweakers download page is dit de eerste 8.1 Build. Inmiddels heb ik Fusion geupdate.

Het kan natuurlijk zijn dat Tweakers een update gemist heeft of er om een andere reden niet over bericht heeft, maar ik meende dat er een update in de 8.1 reeks was die Windows 10 compatibiliteit toevoegde

Sorry, je had gelijk. De VMWare Fusion versie die Windows 10 compatibiliteit toevoegde was 8.0.2.
