De ontwikkelaars achter Drupal hebben updates voor versies 6.2 en 7.0 uitgebracht. Drupal is een in php geschreven gebruiksvriendelijk en krachtig contentmanagementplatform, waarmee bijvoorbeeld websites kunnen worden gemaakt. In versie 7.0 treffen we onder andere een vernieuwde interface aan, die eenvoudiger en intuïtiever moet zijn. Verder kunnen er nu extra velden worden toegevoegd aan content, gebruikers, termen en meer, zoals url's, afbeeldingen en lijsten met opties. Ook is er een automatische test aan het framework toegevoegd om bugs in de code te kunnen opsporen. Ten slotte is de databaselayer volledig herschreven, wat veel beperkingen van de databaselayer in Drupal 6 oplost. Updates worden apart aangeboden. Versies 6.21 en 7.1 verhelpen alleen een beveiligingsprobleem, terwijl 6.22 en 7.2 ook bugfixes doorvoeren.

Upgrading your existing Drupal 7 and 6 sites is strongly recommended. There are no new features in these releases. Drupal 5 is no longer maintained, upgrading to Drupal 6 is recommended.

Drupal 7.1 and 6.21 were released in response to the discovery of security vulnerabilities. Details can be found in the official security advisory: To fix the security problem, please upgrade Drupal. We made two versions of both Drupal 7 and 6 available, so you can choose to only include security fixes (Drupal 7.1 and 6.21 respectively) or security fixes and bugfixes (Drupal 7.2 and 6.22). You can choose your preferred version. We are trying to make it easier and quicker to roll out security updates by making security-only releases available as well as ones with bugfixes included.
