Software-update: Drupal 6.9 / 5.15

Afgelopen woensdag zijn er nieuwe maintenace releases van Drupal uitgebracht, te weten versies 6.9 en 5.15. Drupal is een dynamisch in PHP geschreven systeem waarmee gebruikers content kunnen beheren, organiseren en uitgeven. Het bevat veel features die terug zijn te vinden in bijvoorbeeld contentmanagementsystemen, weblogs, collaboratiesites en forums. Een uitgebreide beschrijving van alle mogelijkheden is op deze pagina te vinden. In deze release zijn geen nieuwe mogelijkheden toegevoegd, deze worden bewaard voor versie 7.0, wel zijn er enkele bugfixes doorgevoerd en is een beveiligingslek gedicht. Security vulnerabilities

Drupal 6.9 and 5.15 were released in response to the discovery of security vulnerabilities. Details can be found in the official security advisory:

To fix the security problems, you can either (1) upgrade Drupal or (2) patch Drupal.

We recommend you do the full upgrade (which is also detailed in the security announcement) as the patches do not contain the additional bugfixes that went into the release. Applying the patches will leave your site in an unversioned state and confuse update status module, which will keep reminding you to upgrade to 6.9 or 5.15. Please read the announcement for details on the patches.

If you still prefer to patch Drupal, apply the 6.8 patch file to your Drupal 6.8 code base or 5.14 patch to your Drupal 5.14 codebase.

In de 6.9 hebben er wel velen (waaronder ik) ineens last van de failure: "HTTP request status Fails" in het Status report venster. Bij 6.8 had ik daar geen last van en er zijn wel meerderen waar het enkel sinds de nieuwe versie is (http://drupal.org/node/359049).
Blijkbaar werkt het wel, maar wordt de fout toch gegeven. Bij mij werkt allesinds alles nog.

Mmm als ik het bericht lees is dit het enige : "allows a user with the 'translate content' permission to potentially bypass normal viewing access" Als dit alles is, ga ik niet upgraden. Alles op de site is openbaar.

Nee, er zijn nog twee issues:

When user profile pictures are enabled, the default user profile validation function will be bypassed, possibly allowing invalid user names or e-mail addresses to be submitted.

A parameter passed into the node access API was not properly escaped or validated before being used in SQL queries. While there is no direct risk of SQL injection from Drupal core, it's possible that this could have presented a risk in combination with a contributed module. Additional validation has been added to eliminate this risk.

Klopt niet.
Er zijn wel een 'heleboel' bugs geplet, maar die zijn niet zo kritisch zoals die door jou vermeld wordt.

Je zou dus liefst toch wel updaten.

Even ter informatie van mijn vorige post:

Met deze module (http://drupal.org/project/http_request_fail_reset) heb ik de http request fail parameter kunnen resetten waardoor drupal dit opnieuw ging controleren. Nadien was de fout dus weg en is alles terug ok.
