X-bit Labs vertelt ons dat we binnenkort een vernieuwde versie van SiS' Xabre 600 videochip kunnen verwachten, die ook beschikt over Video-In & Video-Out-capaciteiten. De huidige GPU zal in de toekomst op de plank gezelschap krijgen van de BT835 multimedia chip van Conexant Systems. Hiermee wordt de Xabre 600 een betaalbare DirectX 8.1 videokaart die naast vier rendering pipelines, een pixel-shader en vertex shading emulator, ook voorzien is van verschillende mogelijkheden voor videobewerking. Hij zal uiteraard compatibel zijn met verschillende videosignalen en -interfaces, en verder nog een leuk aantal hardwarematige bewerkingsfoefjes bevatten:
