In een korte, maar duidelijke review wordt bij I'm Not A Geek.com de nieuwe AMD Duron met Morgan core onder handen genomen. Dit beestje blijkt regelmatig sneller te zijn dan de 1GHz Athlon Thunderbird. Wanneer de Duron overgeklokt wordt naar de 1,2GHz evenaart hij zelfs de 1,33GHz Thunderbird. De prijs van de 1GHz Duron is echter niet zo gunstig, want voor een meerprijs van $11 haal je een Athlon 1,2GHz in huis:
I was able to clock the Duron 1GHz to 1.2GHz and it was rock stable. However I could not even get it to start to load windows at 1250MHz, it also froze before it got out of the BIOS. Heat was no an issue at all, it seems this chip was just not capable of doing more then 1.2GHz.
[...] Normally I would say run out and get one of these they are a great deal, and a great performer. And it is true they are both of that, but when you look at what else AMD has in their line up, you are going to think twice. For example for $11 more you can get a 1.2GHz Athlon with a 266MHz bus. For the $11 it is surely worth it to buy a 1.2GHz instead.
