"In a study conducted on inhabitants living near mobile phone towers, higher risk for developing neuropsychiatric problems and some changes in neurobehavioral functions were observed.
The prevalence of neuropsychiatric complaints as headache (23.5%), memory changes (28.2%), dizziness (18.8%), tremors (9.4%), depressive symptoms (21.7%), and sleep disturbance (23.5%) were significantly higher among exposed inhabitants than controls: (10%), (5%), (5%), (0%), (8.8%) and (10%), respectively (P<0.05). "
"Consistent pattern of the increased risk of glioma and acoustic neuroma associated was seen with use of mobile phones and cordless phones. Supportive evidence came from anatomical localization of the tumor to the most exposed area of the brain, cumulative exposure, and latency time that all add to the biological relevance of an increased risk. Based largely on data suggesting increased risk for glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer, the IARC in May 2011 classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans."
"It was unveiled that a majority of the subjects who were residing near the mobile base station complained of sleep disturbances, headache, dizziness, irritability, concentration difficulties, and hypertension. A majority of the study subjects had significantly lesser stimulated salivary secretion (P < 0.01) as compared to the control subjects."
"Further evidence on the latter is provided in a paper by Hutter et al in this issue.6 They found that symptoms such as headache, fatigue, and difficulty in concentration were more common in people with higher potential exposures to radiation from nearby base stations, and that the association remained significant after adjustment for various possible confounding factors, including regular personal use of mobile phones."
"We found there was a significant correlation between total radiation exposure and an increase in TSH among both groups –in those with and without family history of thyroid illness." (schildklierwerking afgezet tegen telefoongebruik/activiteit).
". Three groups each of eight rats were exposed for 2 hr to Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) mobile phone electromagnetic fields of different strengths. We found highly significant (p< 0.002) evidence for neuronal damage in the cortex, hippocampus, and basal ganglia in the brains of exposed rats."
