Software-update: Tribler 8.4.1

Versie 8.4.1 van Tribler is uitgekomen, de eerste stabiele uitgave in de 8.4-reeks. Tribler is een opensource p2p-client, die ooit ontwikkeld is door studenten van de TU Delft en de VU Amsterdam. Tegenwoordig werkt een internationaal team wetenschappers uit meer dan twintig organisaties samen aan dit project. Tribler heeft onder meer een ingebouwde mediaspeler en er kan vaak direct worden gekeken of geluisterd wanneer een download wordt gestart. Verder kunnen er tokens worden verdiend door te seeden, die weer kunnen worden omgezet in andere valuta. Het programma is beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en macOS. Tribler v8.4.1

This release builds on the 8.4.0 release and is the first "real" release in the 8.4 series. Since 8.4.0 we:

• Fixed an issue that causes files to be allocated on your disk when fetching torrent metadata.
• Added an advanced bandwidth allocation widget to the GUI, based on the time of day.

For Mac users

Our .app signing is currently broken (issue #8835). This means that you will have to manually tell your Mac to clear the "quanrantine this app because it was downloaded from the Internet"-flag using one of the following command in your terminal:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Tribler.app

Tribler v8.4.0 (pre-release)

This release contains many of the features planned for 8.3.0, which had to be released early due to the "blacklisting incident":

• GUI improvements: a restart button, a disk usage icon, a v2/hybrid torrent creation option, an anonymization service online/offline status icon, new filters for "not downloading" and "unqueued", an orphaned .parts file removal setting, custom fonts.
• Bug fixes: no more clearing the seeding ratio when changing anonymity hops or stuck torrents after moving storage.
• New Mac universal2 releases: one for aarch64 and one for x86_64. Make sure to select the right one!
• New Windows installer options: change your state directory and register Tribler as a Startup App.

Bij de instellingen zie ik nu Ipv6 instellingen, maar ik zie nog geen ipv6 peers verschijnen.
Ook is er nog weinig documentatie over wat de nieuwe instellingen allemaal kunnen en mogen bevatten.
