Op Source Forge is versie 0.81 van Gaim verschenen. Gaim is een open source en crossplatform instant messenger die je in staat stelt om te chatten via de netwerken van AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu en Zephyr. Alleen de versie voor Linux is bijgewerkt, de nieuwste versie voor Windows is nog steeds 0.80. Volgens de ontwikkelaars zijn er niet razend veel nieuwe features, maar er zijn wel maar liefst 240 bugs verholpen. Maar aangezien een changelog met 240 punten te lang is wordt volstaan met de volgende opsomming:
