Software-update: OpenTTD 1.4.0

OpenTTD logo (60 pix)Versie 1.4.0 van OpenTTD is uitgekomen. In deze opensourcekloon van het Microprose-spel Transport Tycoon Deluxe is het de bedoeling om een transportimperium op te bouwen over de weg, het spoor, het water en door de lucht. OpenTTD kan meer dan alleen het originele spel nabootsen. Zo kunnen er tot wel 64 keer grotere maps dan in het origineel worden gebruikt, is de ai zijn naam waardig en is er ondersteuning voor multiplayer en ipv6. Downloads zijn beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en OS X. Versie 1.4.0 is sinds afgelopen kerst in ontwikkeling geweest en kende vijf bètareleases en een release candidate.

De GIT-repository doet het ook weer zie ik. Deze was voor een lange tijd niet bereikbaar. Te vinden onder:
Ik speel het niet meer. De uren/dagen vliegen voorbij voor je er erg in hebt als je hier eenmaal weer aan begint.
Ik vind het een geweldig spel. Het enige wat ik jammer vind aan OpenTTD zijn de gigantische hoeveelheid aan opties/instellingen. Geef mij maar de simpelheid van TTD.
Doe er niks aan en je heb eigenlijk gewoon standard instelling met enkel betere ai.
Oh, wat zou ik graag een nieuwe versie zien van Transport Tycoon.
Ik ben zeer benieuwd naar Train Fever bijvoorbeeld!
Zou het niet prachtig zijn als deze mensen hetzelfde deden, alleen dan met RCT? :+ Al weet ik niet de status van het project. Twee dagen geleden hebben ze nog iets commit in ieder geval.
