Voor de tweede keer in korte tijd is er een update uitgebracht voor de onlangs verschenen versie 2.57 van het opensource- en crossplatform-3d-programma Blender. De applicatie is bedoeld voor 3d-modeling, animatie, rendering, post-production, interactive creation en playback. Met dit programma zijn onder meer de opensource-animatiefilms Elephants Dream, Big Buck Bunny en het eind september verschenen Sintel gemaakt. In versie 2.57b is opnieuw een groot aantal bugfixes doorgevoerd.
