Dinsdag is, precies op tijd, versie 4.3.3 van K Desktop Environment uitgebracht, de tweede servicerelease voor de begin augustus verschenen versie 4.3.0. KDE is een populaire desktopomgeving die primair voor Linux, FreeBSD en Solaris wordt ontwikkeld, maar er bestaan ook versies voor Windows en Mac OS X. Het wordt met een standaarddesktop geleverd, inclusief vijftien pakketten met applicaties, waaronder een personal information manager, programma's voor multimedia, administratie- en netwerkbeheer en spelletjes. Versie 4.3.3 is een zogenaamde maintenance release en bevat alleen bijgewerkte vertalingen en bugfixes. De belangrijkste zijn hieronder in de release notes te vinden:

KDE 4.3.3 has a number of improvements that will make your life just a little bit better. Some of KWin's effects have been smoothed and freed of visual glitches, JuK should now be more stable, KDE PIM has seen its share of improvements while in the back-rooms of KDE, the developers are working hard on porting all applications to the new Akonadi storage and cache.
