Google heeft in het dev channel een nieuwe versie van zijn browser Chrome uitgebracht met 4.0.206.1 als het versienummer. Google geeft zijn browser in drie smaken uit; Google zelf noemt het 'drie verschillende kanalen'. Die kanalen zijn de stable-, beta- en dev-channels, waarbij de laatste gezien kan worden als de speeltuin voor ontwikkelaars om nieuwe ideeën uit te proberen. Behalve deze nieuwe uitgave kunnen we ook nog even stilstaan bij het eerste verjaardagsfeest van deze browser, dat op 2 september jl. werd gehouden. De aankondiging van deze dev-channel-uitgave ziet er als volgt uit:
