Woensdag is versie 3.0.36 van Samba uitgebracht, wat volgens de ontwikkelaars de laatste versie uit de 3.0-serie zal zijn. Dit programma draait op Unix-, BSD- en Linux-servers en is in staat om bestand- en/of printerservices aan Windows-clients te bieden via het zogenaamde Common Internet File System-protocol.
