AMD Zone viste onderstaande support post uit de Intel nieuwsgroepen. Volgens een Intel support ventje zal de 1GHz PIII tot september moeilijk verkrijgbaar zijn:

It's pretty obvious that unless you have a million dollars lying around, this message is targeted to the OEMs, not individuals. We are working with IBM, HP, and Dell. So, if you want a system, check with those folks. As for individual processor sales, OEM or "boxed", I would look to your individual dealers or distributors but when we say "limited" volume I wouldn't expect much out there from them at this point in time.
