The Intel StrongARM SA-1110 processor is designed to benefit a wide variety of telematics devices and applications. The Intel StrongARM processor and upcoming processors based on the Intel XScale microarchitecture have the flexibility to handle requirements for both ultra-low power and high performance to efficiently perform compute-intensive tasks such as speech recognition, text to speech, MP3 decode, route calculation, and map rendering.
[...] Developers can immediately access the Intel Telematics Design Center at www.intel.com/design/wireless/telematics/designcenter. The Center includes:
- hardware designs for full multimedia and hands-free phone kit based on Intel StrongARM and future Intel XScale processors;
- technical library that features hardware design guides and software development notes;
- tools for programming flash and debugging applications; and
- links to various third party tool vendor downloads that are focused on operating systems and Java application development.
