NEC heeft twee nieuwe 42" (yummie yummie) plasma monitors ge´ntroduceerd. Het eerste nieuwe model is de PlasmaSync 42MP2 die vanaf deze maand verkrijgbaar is voor de lieve prijs van 9.995 dollar. Het scherm heeft een native resolutie van 853 bij 480 beeldlijnen, maar kan overweg met resoluties tot 1280x1024px. Naast een normale 15-pins VGA connector heeft het apparaat gaatjes voor BNC, DVI, composite video, S-Video en Components Video connectors. In oktober volgt het iets minder dure PlasmaSync 42PD2 model, die specifiek is bedoeld voor gebruik als info display in omgevingen waar veel volk rondwandelt, zoals luchthavens en stadions:

Pricing and Availability
The PlasmaSync 42MP2 will ship in September 2000, and the 42PD2 will be available in October 2000. The suggested retail price for the 42MP2 is $9,995 and is $9,495 for the 42PD2. The monitors include a 1-year warranty and have an optional Extended Warranty that can be purchased through an authorized NEC Technologies dealer for an additional two years of coverage.
