MusicBrainz is een open content muziekdatabase, die kan worden aangesproken om muzieknummers van de juist tags te voorzien. Picard is het officiële programma's om tags op te vragen, te bewerken en in te sturen. MusicBrainz Picard is opensource en wordt ontwikkeld voor Linux, Mac OS X en Windows. Het programma heeft ondersteuning voor de meest gebruikte muziekformaten, PU ID's en Acoust ID's, en Unicode. Verleden week is versie 1.0 van MusicBrainz Picard uitgekomen en het changelog van die release ziet er als volgt uit:
