- ASUSTOR recommends to back up important data before updating ADM.
- Your NAS will restart to complete the update.
- After upgrading to ADM 5.0.0, it will no longer be possible to downgrade to a previous version.
- After upgrading to ADM 5.0.0, please be sure to upgrade NAS apps from App Central to reduce compatibility issues.
- AS31, AS32, AS40, AS61 and AS62 NAS series will no longer be receiving feature updates due to the recent termination of vendor support for drivers. ADM 4.3 will be the last major version for these models. Only security updates and critical bug fixes will be provided.

- The all-new ADM Defender provides preset and customizable firewall profiles. Intelligent security protection can proactively prevent suspicious IP addresses from connecting to your NAS.
- ADM Defender now monitors network transmission packets to intercept suspicious network activity.
- Enabling SSH keys can improve the security of using SSH while also making it more convenient.
- Text Editor for editing and creating plain text files is now available on App Central.
- Added support for ASUSTOR EZ-Sync for macOS.

- Linux Kernel has been upgraded to version 6.6 LTS. Kernel 6.6 LTS introduces numerous security patches and fixes more potential security issues.
- OpenSSL updates bring improved performance and compatibility.
- With the new version of Samba, SMB Multichannel is no longer experimental and brings new performance enhancements, additional security and is much more stable than ever before.
- The ADM toolbar can now be automatically hidden.
- ADM now defaults to the language of your browser.
- Revised regional options in ADM Settings and updated time zones.
- Storage Manager improves how storage is displayed in the overview page to provide more convenient and effective information.
- ADM Maintenance replaces and combines ADM Update, Factory Reset and Settings Backup.
- Updated OAuth for using Outlook to send notifications to comply with new Microsoft account security standards.
- When upgrading to ADM 5.0, Web Center will now prompt that only PHP 8 is supported to remind users to install and use PHP 8.
- Web Center can now be set up to use different PHP versions for different apps.
- When removing a shared folder or unmounting an encrypted shared folder, you now need to enter the system administrator password for verification.
- Adjusted and categorized the ADM File Manager menu to improve the user experience.
- Settings Backup will now back up the settings of ADM Defender, Manual connect, Scheduling and Services.
- Backup & Restore is now changed to Backup Central.
- NAS apps can now configure HTTP and HTTPS port in the app config file. ADM will use the configured port to open the web app.
- Users can now choose between different encryption algorithms when creating Let's Encrypt certificates.
- Domain Controller can now be configured while adding an Active Directory server in Access Control.
- When a UPS is in a low power state, a connected ASUSTOR NAS will now shut down properly.
- When thin provisioning is enabled, the maximum iSCSI LUN capacity that can be allocated is 1024 TB.
- Added support for IronWolf Health Management (IHM) 3.x. IHM 3.x is now available on App Central.

Limitations:
- ADM Defender now monitors network transmission packets to intercept suspicious network activity.
- The AbuseIPDB API key is now correctly verified in the risk detection greylist of ADM Defender and IP risk detection can be enabled.
- Storage Manager will now display the firmware version of HDDs and SSDs installed on an ASUSTOR NAS.
- Improved performance of browsing folders or files in ADM File Explorer using AD.
