Gaim 0.82 heeft het levenslicht gezien. Gaim is een open source en crossplatform instant messenger die je in staat stelt om te chatten via de netwerken van AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu en Zephyr. In versie 0.82 zijn volgens de ontwikkelaars alle bugs die in 0.81 gevonden zijn verholpen. Nieuw is ook een zogenaamde Security Vulnerability Index, een lijst met onvolkomenheden die vanaf nu gebruikt gaat worden. Het changelog bij deze release laat de volgende veranderingen zien:
