Software-update: Gpg4win 4.4.0

Gpg4win logo (79 pix)Versie 4.4.0 van Gpg4win is uitgekomen. Met dit programma kan een stukje zekerheid aan het versturen van e-mails en bestanden worden toegevoegd. Zo kunnen deze worden versleuteld met OpenPGP of S/MIME. Daarnaast kan aan de hand van een digitale handtekening zowel de integriteit van de bestanden of e-mails, als de afzender worden geverifieerd. Om dit alles te bewerkstelligen maakt Gpg4win gebruik van een aantal externe programma's zoals GnuPG, Kleopatra, GpgOL en GpgEX. De changelog voor deze uitgave kan hieronder worden gevonden.

File encryption/decryption and signing/verification
  • Kleopatra: Encryption and decryption of large files is much faster. [T6351]
  • Kleopatra: It is now possible to change the name of a decrypted file if another file with the same name already exists. [T6851]
  • Kleopatra: Files can be signed with multiple signatures. [T6867, T7273]
  • Kleopatra: All valid user IDs are listed for signing and encryption. This simplifies using certificates with multiple user IDs. [T7183]
  • Kleopatra: An easier to understand message is shown if a file could not be decrypted because it wasn't encrypted for one of the user's certificates. [T7295]
  • Kleopatra: An icon for folder encryption was added. [T6984]
Certificate management
  • Kleopatra: Certificates can be updated directly from the certificate list. [T6739]
  • Kleopatra: Additional subkeys can be added to existing certificates. [T6877]
  • Kleopatra: ADSKs can be added to existing certificates. [T6879]

Helemaal aan het eind staan links naar de wijzigingen in GnuPG. Ik vind die toch een significante hoeveelheid vooral bugfixes hebben voor software die toch al zo lang bestaat.
