Software-update: Emsisoft Anti-Malware / Internet Security 10.0.0.5735

Emsisoft heeft een update voor versie 10 van Anti-Malware en Internet Security uitgebracht. Anti-Malware beschermt tegen virussen en malware, terwijl Internet Security ook de firewall Online Armor aan boord heeft. Een licentie voor Anti-Malware kost vier tientjes en voor Internet Security zijn dat er vijf. De programma's zijn geschikt voor Windows XP of hoger en kunnen dertig dagen worden getest. Na die dertig dagen schakelen de programma's over naar de gratismodus, die wel kan scannen en verwijderen, maar geen realtime-beveiliging biedt. In versie 10 is het programma onder meer een stuk sneller geworden en kan het zo ingesteld worden dat er geen privégegevens naar Emsisoft worden gestuurd. In deze update, waarvoor de computer moet worden herstart, zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

• Processing of firewall rules (Emsisoft Internet Security).
• Processing speed when moving a large number of items to Quarantine.
• Task scheduler stability.
• Notification about actions to be taken after malware is found on a network computer.
• Factory reset feature.
• Processing of whitelisted items during scans.
• Uninstaller.
• Ransomware detection in behavior blocker.
• Behavior blocker panel processing of filenames with special characters.
• Malware detection in scheduled scans.
• Main window loading speed.

Fixed:

• Occasional crash when the installer is run with regular windows user account.
• Occasional “Terminated by user” entry in the update log.
• Installation wizard doesn’t start after installation on Windows XP.
• Incorrect “Unexpected internal processing error” notification during update and Anti-Malware Network lookups.
• Incorrect “Waiting for component to start” notification.
• Scheduled scan (set as: after computer startup) did not start on Window 8.
• Occasional crash in the import hosts list dialog.
• Occasional hang of the main screen.
• Occasional hang after creation of an empty rule in a Firewall Alert.
• Incorrect processing of ‘On scan completion’ settings.

Is dit dan niet gewoon Malware Bytes met een andere design en wat extra features? Nog niet getest maar zou wel fijn zijn als iemand feedback over dit kan geven

Emsisoft is de Bitdefender Engine + een eigen Engine.
Daarnaast is de firewall bij de internet security iets wat destijds voortgekomen is uit Online Armor.

Deze AV bevalt mij iig prima.

Zij hebben bewust gekozen voor de naam 'Anti-Malware' omdat Malware eigenlijk alle type malafide software omvat, waarbij Anti-Virus eigenlijk erin geslopen is in de vroege jaren van de beveiligings pakketten. Emsisoft Internet Security, en Emsisoft Anti-Malware zijn volwaardige pc beschermers, met als bonus dat je Emsisoft Anti-Malware zo kunt instellen dat het ook als een secundaire Real-Time beveiliging gebruikt kan worden.

Daarnaast is Emsisoft redelijk licht voor het systeem, en geeft het een solide beveiliging Heb het zelf jaren gebruikt.
