Versie 4.10 van de KDE Software Compilation is verschenen. Deze populaire desktopomgeving, die bestaat uit de onderdelen Development Platform, Plasma Workspaces en Applications, wordt primair voor Linux, FreeBSD en Solaris ontwikkeld, maar er bestaan ook versies voor Windows en OS X, al zijn die iets minder ver in hun ontwikkeling. De KDE Software Compilation wordt met een standaarddesktop geleverd, inclusief een groot aantal applicaties, waaronder een personal information manager, programma's voor multimedia en netwerkbeheer, en spelletjes.
