Software-update: Google Chrome 19.0.1084.52

Google heeft een update voor versie 19 van zijn webbrowser Chrome uitgebracht. Google Chrome is beschikbaar in drie verschillende uitvoeringen: stable, bèta en dev. Developmentversies zitten in een vroeg stadium van ontwikkeling en zijn dus het minst stabiel. Nieuw in versie 19 is onder andere dat open tabs nu ook gesynchroniseerd worden als je in Chrome ingelogd bent. Het changelog van deze release laat een flinke lijst met beveiligingsupdates zien.

Eigenlijk zie ik in Chrome nergens terug welke versie je gaat downloaden, je bezig bent met installeren of welke je hebt draaien zonder iets verder te moeten graven. Ze gebruiken het tenminste niet als verkoopargument oid

Voeg er in je hoofd een "1." aan toe en het is voor altijd goed en hoef je er niet meer over te discussieren.

Chrome is Chrome. Versienummer niet belangrijk voor gebruikers, alleen voor devvers.

Het mooie is eigenlijk dat ze continu nieuwe functies toevoegen. Browsers zoals Opera doen misschien 1 a 2x per jaar een release waar een dusdanige waslijst aan features aan vast zit dat je van een nieuwe versie kan spreken. Bij IE nog minder frequent. Bij FF en Chrome gaat dat zo geleidelijk dat er geen groot onderscheid meer is.
