Firmware-update: QNAP TS-x10/x19 3.4.4 build 0715

QNAP heeft nieuwe stabiele firmware uitgebracht voor een groot aantal van zijn nas-modellen. De firmware heeft versienummer 3.4.3 build 0520 meegekregen en downloads kunnen op deze pagina worden gevonden. In deze release is onder andere ondersteuning toegevoegd voor een hot spare, althans voor de modellen waarin vier of meer harde schijven geplaatst kunnen worden. Deze versie voegt onder andere ondersteuning toe voor AFP DHX2, wat door het Nieuwe Mac OS X Lion wordt gebruikt. Het volledige changelog van deze release ziet er als volgt uit:

Enhancements

• [ElephantDrive] ElephantDrive version updated to v2.1.5.
• [AFP] Added "AFP DHX2 support" to allow access to the NAS from Mac OS X Lion 10.7. The Time Machine backup for Mac OS X Lion 10.7 will be ready on the official firmware v3.5.0.
• [RAID Management] RAID 10 performance has been improved.

Major Bug Fixes

• Random dropping of hard drives during system startup for the NAS using certain models of Hitachi and Seagate hard drives, including ST2000DL003, HDS723020BLA642, HDS723030ALA640.
• [AD] The NAS cannot join the Active Directory if the domain user name used to join the AD domain contains Russian characters.
• [AD] If Active Directory authentication error occurred, users can update the NAS firmware to v3.4.4 and join the NAS to the AD domain again to solve this problem.
• [AD] Domain users cannot access a subfolder after the local admin permission has been removed from the folder.
• [AD] The shared folders cannot be accessed by the domain groups after re-applying the shared folder permission.
• [RAID Management] The NAS will not rebuild a RAID volume if the encrypted volume is locked.
• [SAMBA] Turning on or off the printer will cause Samba disconnection and interrupt ongoing data transfer.
• [SAMBA] File name rename issue by using Windows 7 Windows Explorer.
• [RSYNC] Backup by Rsync failed when synchronizing a single large file and the file content is different between the source and the destination.
• [Network UPS] The NAS server which is configured as network UPS master failed to inform the network UPS slave to shut down when a critical power event occurred.
• [Web File Manager] Supports extracting bz2 files by Web File Manager.

Mijn TS439 Pro II met FW 3.4.3 build 0520T ziet hem echter nog niet staan.

Ik heb hem gewoon via liveupdate binnengehengeld. Dat werkt al wel. (119P+)

Als ik de update handmatig download, krijg ik een version mismatch.
Terwijl ik 100% zeker het juiste pakket binnen haal.
Maargoed, er zitten geen spannende fixes in.
Even geduld dus maar.

Hopelijk komen ze snel met 3.5.0. Dat die TimeMachine nu niet werkt is best irritant en redelijk tricky.

[TranceSetter]

Deze Beta ondersteund nog geen TimeMachine, voor degenen die denken hier hun timemachine weer mee aan de gang te krijgen. v3.5.0 beta 4 zal waarschijnlijk wel timemachine support hebben, maar die komt pas over een aantal weken.

De problemen opgelost in 3.4.4 zijn niet in de beta opgelost, daar deze een stuk ouder is. ik zou de beta dus ook nog even niet gebruiken

Live update geprobeerd voor de eerste keer. Hij bleef in de webinterface hangen op: Checking new update', maar intussen werd hij wel geupdated. Na een reboot had ik deze nieuwste versie.

Ik hoop wel dat ze snel de bug fixxen waarmee de QNAP traag wordt met kopieeren als er 100.000 bestanden op de schijf staan.

Ik kan inmiddels bevestigen dat het er op lijkt dat:

opgelost is. In ieder geval op de QNAP TS-419 Pro+ Turbo Station i.c.m. 3 Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 3TB 7200rpm 64MB SATA2 in slot 1,2,3 en in RAID 5!

Ik ben heel tevreden! Mijn vertrouwen was wat afgenomen toen ik hiermee te maken kreeg na een aantal reboots. (totale set is nog geen 3 weken oud). Het lijkt nu opgelost.
