Gisteren heeft Anoniem: 155604 de op de website van Pidgin gezien dat de ontwikkelaars in de vorm van 2.0.1 een nieuwe versie van de instant messenger hebben klaargezet. Pidgin - de nieuwe naam van Gaim - is een multiprotocol im-client voor Windows en Unix-achtige besturingssystemen waarmee ingelogd kan worden op verschillende chatnetwerken, onder meer die van MSN, AIM, Jabber, ICQ en IRC. De nieuwe 2.0.1-release volgt de begin deze maand uitgebrachte 2.0.0-versie op en kent ten opzichte van zijn voorganger meer dan honderd bugfixes, aldus de makers. Pidgin 2.0.1 kan gedownload worden voor Windows, Fedora Core en CentOS en Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Ook is de broncode beschikbaar gesteld onder de gpl-licentie.
