Versie 2.1.8 van Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is uitgekomen. Dit programma is gericht op het bestrijden van spy-, ad- en malware. Het is echter vooral gericht op het verwijderen van kwaadaardige software die zich als bonafide antivirus- of antispywareoplossing voordoet, maar in werkelijkheid minder goede bedoelingen heeft, zoals ransom- of scareware. Naast de gratis uitvoering is er een betaalde variant, die extra functionaliteit biedt, waaronder realtime-bescherming. De nieuwe versie wordt in eerste instantie alleen als update voor versie 2.1.6 aangeboden, maar een aparte download is inmiddels ook beschikbaar.
