De maand is nog niet voorbij, of Netscraft heeft de resultaten van de december webserver survey al klaar liggen. Het marktaandeel van Apache blijkt, na een lichte stijging vorige maand, weer gedaald te zijn. De grootste stijger is Zeus, waarvan het aandeel met 0,77% omhoog is gegaan:
The number of sites running Zeus increased significantly this month. Many of the new sites are administered by uu.net; however Zeus has gained sites fairly steadily through the year since the server's high performance was highlighted in the aftermath of the Mindcraft study. Zeus has some of the "against all odds" characteristics of Thawte, competing against Microsoft, Netscape and Apache, but it has identified a sensible target market of hosting companies and ISPs, while the main focus of the other commercial vendors currently seems to be commerce sites.
