Ik zweer juist bij 1920*1200 op 15 inch, op 14 inch zal met een iets lagere resolutie weinig verschil zijn
1920*1200 op 15,4 inch is best wel klein. Op 14 ich lijkt mij het helemaal pietepeuterig.
Belangrijker nog is dat je graag wil gamen op de native resolutie. De GT555M is waarschijnlijk beter in staat om op 1600x900 nog goed te presteren.

The NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M is a fast middle class graphics card for laptops. It is based on the same GF106 core as the GeForce GT 445M but offers slightly higher clock rates and support for DDR3 running at 900 MHz. The other features like PureVideo HD (VP4), 3DVision, HD Audio support, ... are identical to the GT445M. The chip can be used with DDR3 or GDDR5 graphics memory. Depending on the configuration, the performance can differ significantly.
GF106 architecture
The GF106 core of the GTX 555M is related to the GF100 core of the GeFore GTX 480M and offers 192 shader and a 192 Bit memory bus for GDDR5. The GT 555M offers only 144 shaders and in some variants also a smaller memory bus with DDR3. Except for the memory controllers the GF106 can basically be considered a halved GF104. Therefore, the architecture is not comparable to the old GT215 (e.g., GeForce GTS 350M) or GT216 (e.g., GeForce GT 330M) cores. Unlike the GF100 the smaller GF104, GF106, and GF108 core were not only shortened, but also considerably modified. In contrast to the GF100, which was designed for professional applications, these chips target the consumer market. They feature more shaders (3x16 instead of 2x16), more texture units (8 instead of 4) and SFUs per streaming multi-processor (SM).

Performance
We tested the gaming performance of the GeForce GT 555M with DDR3 graphics memory in a pre sample of the Dell XPS 17. The synthetic benchmarks show a performance slightly above the old GeForce 9800M GT. GDDR5 versions should be slightly faster. Therefore, nearly all current demanding games should run fluently in 1366x768 and high detail settings. Only extremely demanding games like Metro 2033 will only run in medium detail settings. Older and low demanding games like Fifa 11 should run in high detail settings and Full HD resolution.
Hier wordt zelfs gesproken over 1366x768 om op high te kunnen spelen. Ik vrees dat de GT555M dus high settings op 1600x900 niet trekt. Laat staan op 1920*1200
De chip Is dus iets krachtiger dan de GF9800M GT. Om dat weer even in perspectief te zetten met een desktop kaart:
die is ongeveer even snel als een 8800GS.

Features
A novelty of the GF104/106/108 chips is the support of Bitstream HD Audio (Blu-Ray) output via HDMI. Alike the Radeon HD 5730, the GT 555M can transfer Dolby True HD and DTS-HD bitstream-wise without quality loss to a HiFi receiver.
The GT555M offers the PureVideo HD technology for video decoding. The included Video Processor 4 (VP4) supports feature set C and therefore the GPU is able to fully decode MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Part 2 (MPEG-4 ASP - e.g., DivX or Xvid), VC-1/WMV9, and H.264 (VLD, IDCT, Motion Compensation, and Deblocking).
The relative high power consumption of the GeForce GT 555M suits it for larger laptops from 15-17". To save power, the card supports Optimus to automatically switch between the integrated graphics card from Intel and the Nvidia GPU. However, the laptop manufacturers need to implement it and it cannot be upgraded.
