Eerste dlc voor Dark Souls III heet Ashes of Ariandel en komt op 25 oktober uit

Op 25 oktober verschijnt Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel. De komst van de dlc werd door Sony bekendgemaakt middels een tweet, die inmiddels weer is verwijderd. Een Japans tijdschrift heeft ook enkele details over de uitbreiding gepubliceerd.

Volgens het Japanse Esuteru bevat de dlc nieuwe wapens, nieuwe magie en een pvp-omgeving die de titel 'Immortal Competition' krijgt. Vermoedelijk omvat de uitbreiding ook een verhaallijn als uitbreiding op de game, maar daar zijn nog geen details over bekend.

De officiële aankondiging van de dlc volgt waarschijnlijk binnenkort. Sony zette dinsdag een tweet online met de releasedatum en een link naar een trailer. Het filmpje is echter nog niet te bekijken omdat het een private video betreft.

Dark Souls 3 verscheen in april voor de PlayStation 4, Xbox One en Windows. Het is vermoedelijk het laatste deel in de Souls-serie. De Season Pass die recht geeft op de uitbreidingen kost 24,99 euro. Eerder maakte uitgever Bandai Namco al bekend dat er twee dlc's voor de game verschijnen.

A Season Pass including the first and second downloadable add-ons will also be available for 2,000 yen. Buying it will also get you a PlayStation 4 custom theme.

The first add-on includes weapons such as a large sword cloaked in colorless flames, cold storm-like magic, and miracles such as a ring of light that you throw like a boomerang. It will also have a new PvP-exclusive map called the “Immortal Arena.” Screenshots in the magazine show a hazy white snow field.

Update 10:10 a.m.: The official PlayStation Twitter account has tweeted (update: now removed) that the first Dark Souls III downloadable content, “Ashes of Ariandel,” will launch on October 25 in the west. This YouTube trailer is attached, but the video is private. The tweet was likely in error, as the “major announcement” isn’t scheduled until tomorrow.

Maar ik ben benieuwd... Op Reddit is ook al confirmed dat er een nieuwe PVP zone bijkomt, en nieuwe spells (Ice misschien?)
