Software-update: PHP 4.3.10

Op de homepage van PHP kan in de vorm van 4.3.10 een nieuwe versie van de hypertext preprocessor gedownload worden. Deze update is een onderhoudsrelease en kan als ingepakt bestand vanaf hier gedownload worden. Hieronder is te lezen welke veranderingen doorgevoerd zijn:

This is a maintenance release that in addition to over 30 non-critical bug fixes addresses several very serious security issues. All Users of PHP are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this release as soon as possible.

Ik heb veel problemen met enkele servers na het upgraden naar PHP 4.3.10. Ik heb eerst alle software geupdate met RPM's (cPanel doet dit met een script), vervolgens de ZendOptimizer geupgrade en dan een volledige Apache/PHP rebuild naar versie 4.3.10. Afbeeldingen gemaakt in PHP (gd libraries) werken niet tegoei, enzoverder... Hoe dan ook is het aangeraden te upgraden omwille van de ernstige security bugs in 4.3.9 raad ik toch even aan goed na te denken en wat research te doen alvorens te updaten! Vooral nu blijkt dat ik niet de enige ben met deze complicaties.

En meteen een major bug:
foreach($array as $value) is kapot

Edit: schijnt te liggen aan de gebruikte versie Zendoptimizer; als je 4.3.10 installeerd en ZO gebruikt installeer dan ook meteen versie 2.5.7 van de Optimizer, anders kom je voor vervelende verassingen te staan....

Aan PHP alleen kan zoiets niet liggen, er worden steeds RC's uitgebracht voor elke nieuwe versie die door duizenden mensen getest worden.
